William C. Harvey III, 65, of Uncle Branch in Lincoln County, WV passed away April 11, 2015 after a long illness.
He was born on July 31, 1949 in Beckley, WV. He retired from the Boone County Health Dept. after 31 years as head sanitarian. He served on the Board of Sanitarian for 24 years. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors, most of all he loved to ride his Harley motorcycle. He was a first degree Black Belt and taught several self defense classes for women.
He is survived by his wife, Lavon Clark; his mother, Betty Harvey of Oceana, WV; sister, Tina Ward; niece, Melissa Blankenship; and great nephew, Aidan Blankenship.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Garry Bowman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Cemetery, Brushy Fork, Alkol,WV.
The family would like to thank the staff of Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville for all their help and support and Boone Memorial Hospital staff and friends for their support and kindness.
Special thanks to all of Bill’s friends and neighbors who have helped us through this trying time and my family for always being there for me.
