Toby Carol Baldwin

Toby Carol (Stover) Baldwin, 80, of Sharples, WV, was welcomed into the Gates of Heaven on Monday, January 29, 2024, surrounded by her precious family by her side at HospiceCare at CAMC Memorial Hospital. Toby was born on May 6, 1943, in Acme, WV and preceded in death by her beloved parents William “Otey” and Fronnie (Shearer) Stover.  

Toby was a proud graduate of Sharples High School “Class of 1961.”

Toby started selling Tupperware all because a dear friend LouAnn Workman hosted a party by Barbara Erwing. In 1987, Toby and late husband, Jimmy moved to Cresson, PA to operate a Tupperware distributorship under the name of “Welcome Party Sales”. There Toby made lifelong friends.  Toby will forever be remembered as “Toby the Tupperware Lady”.

Toby gave her life to the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 30, 1997, and became a member of the Monclo Freewill Baptist Church family.  

In addition to her parents, Toby was proceeded in death by the Love of her life, husband of 54 years, Jimmy Daniel Baldwin; one son Jimmy “JD” Baldwin, Jr.; one sister Charlotte Stover, three brothers, Randall Lee, Frankie “Hooper” and Terry Wayne Stover; sister-in-law Ruth Baldwin Whitaker and Linda Kinser.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sheila (Denny) Staines of Altoona, PA; precious grandchildren, who shared a piece of her heart, Jimmy Daniel Baldwin III, Angel Mae (Bryan Sells) Baldwin; Laci Nicole Staines, Brian (Destiny) Staines and Rachel Staines; great grandchildren, Elijah Daniel, Baylee Rose Baldwin, and Oliver; Grayson and Carter Sells, Noah and Micah Staines, Emma Bassett and Olivia Staines; Brother Michael “Mike” (Linda) Stover, and Ira “Rocky” (Julie) Stover; sisters-in-law, Brenda Stover, Doris Carter, Trena Duke, Francies Smith, Rosetta (William) Sutphin, Catherine (Richard) Ball, Bethelene Ball, and Brenda (Boyd) Elkins; brothers-in-law, Norman (Karen) Baldwin, and Ronnie Kinser; Dear Friend Jerry and Linda Greene; along with her cat “Sugarfoot”. Toby was blessed with an abundant of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.  Toby leaves behind a host of wonderful lifelong friends and her beloved church family.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Rev. Joe Lane and Dennie Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Low Gap, Madison, WV.

The family truly appreciates the kindness and compassion that was shown to us all by the wonderful professional Medical Team and Staff at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Boone Memorial Hospital, Trinity Healthcare Services, and Genius Healthcare services.
