With heavy hearts and great sorrow we announce the passing of Terry Lee “Buddo” Legg Sr., who left this world on July 3, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on July 30, 1964, Buddo was a man known for his heart—almost as big as his head (and that was saying something). His humor, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends made him unforgettable. Buddo never met a stranger. If you knew him, you probably loved him.
He was more than just a husband, brother, father, and friend. He was a constant presence in the lives of those who needed him. Throughout his life, he worked countless jobs—mechanic, carpenter, coal truck driver, logger, and handyman. You name it, Buddo probably did it. He was the guy everyone called when they needed a hand, and he always showed up. But of all the titles he held, “Dad” and “Poppy” were by far his favorites. He wore those names like a badge of honor.
Buddo is survived by his devoted wife, Denise Karen Legg, who stood by his side for more than half of her life. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and resilience; weathering every storm in the way together. He also leaves behind his children, whom he loved and cherished; Terry Lee Jr., Jerry Lee, and Dianna Joy. Each of whom he was incredibly proud and who were just as proud to call him Dad.
His daughters-in-law, Joni Green and Cheyan White, were family long before they officially joined the clan. He loved them like his own and held them close to his heart.
Buddo was “Poppy” to five beautiful granddaughters: MayLeigh Curry, Alisana Legg, Zaelynn Elkins, Aleeah Legg, and Nevaeh Legg. They brought him infinite joy and filled his days with laughter and love; being their Poppy was truly the highlight of his life.
He is also survived by his twin sister Alice Warner and his siblings: brother Jerry Legg (Donetta), and sisters Diana Prince (Ricky), Phyliss Burns, and Ruby Hurley (Barry). His sister-in-law, Anna Keffer (Matthew Cater), and many cherished nieces and nephews; all of which held a very special place in his heart.
Buddo was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Walden and Joy Marie Legg ; his father-in-law, Dennie Keith Keffer— And so many other cherished relatives and friends who passed before him.
Buddo lived a life full of love, loyalty, and laughter. His legacy is one of kindness, strength, and an unforgettable presence. Though his physical presence is gone, his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched.
