Heaven became just a little more beautiful as Teresa entered though the pearly gates. She was taken from us early, due to Alzheimer’s/Dementia, at the age of 67.

Her life was quite successful. She was a Christian all her life. She was a member of Meadowfork Freewill Baptist Church in Hewett. This was the church she grew up in, was married in, and started her family in. She is also the mother of two Madison Middle School teachers. She retired from the State of West Virginia as an administrative secretary, working at the Donald R. Kuhn Juvenile Center and worked for the Office of Child and Maternal Health, dedicating 28 years. She also worked as a pharmacy tech for several years at Rite-Aid, Walmart, Chapmanville, and Medi-Cap. She attended Jeffrey Spencer Grade School and graduated from Scott High School in 1976. She attended Southern West Virginia Community College and graduated from Grand Canyon University with a BA in Business.

And now, Teresa has finished her race. 2 Timothy Chapter 4: verses 6-9: For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me.

There waiting in to greet her are her Mom and Daddy, Kathleen and Riley Bryant; and a sister, Brenda Craddock.

As promised, no tears, just happiness. A host of family is left behind to grieve our great loss, including her husband of 49 years, Kennith Tawney of Madison, WV; two daughters, Jennifer (Travis) Harvey of Madison, WV and Tabitha (Michael) Woodrum) of Camp Creek, WV; six grandchildren: Riley Jo, Harleigh, Tucker, and Bentley Harvey of Madison, WV and Hunter and Liam of Camp Creek, WV; sisters, Emma (Chuck) Gilliam of Low Gap, WV, Joy (Ronnie) Blevens of Lake, WV, and Pam (Gary) Griffith of AL. They were very dedicated to Teresa these last several months. Also surviving are seven nieces, one nephew, and numerous cousins and friends.

“God Knows”

“The Lord knoweth them that are his ….” II Timothy 2:19

They’ve loved you well for many years,

But now you often choke back tears.

The diagnosis is so clear.

God knows.

The many memories you have made,

In their mind begin to fade,

And now you feel alone, afraid.

God knows.

They may forget those special days,

That in your mind are still engraved,

Like the day that they were saved.

God knows. 

God saves, He keeps and He secures,

Even when there is no cure.

So, friend, take heart, and be assured,

God knows.

There are some things that God forgets,

Those sins that we have since confessed.

For that, we are supremely blessed!

God knows.

But God won’t forget the one you love.

His grace for you will be enough.

Keep trusting Him, who reigns above.

God knows.

Funeral services for Teresa will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Meadowfork Freewill Baptist Church in Hewett, WV, with David Mullins officiating. Eulogy to be read by Jimbob Craddock. Friends and family may pay their respects from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the church. Burial to follow at Danville Memorial Park in Danville, WV.
