Tambra Asbury, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 9, 1963, in Charleston, West Virginia, Tambra was the cherished daughter of the late Dottie and Bob McCkinney and the stepdaughter of the late Robert Barker.

Tambra's life was a testament to love, resilience, and kindness. She grew up in a close-knit family, alongside her brothers Timmy and Terry, who adored her dearly. After graduating from Sherman High School in 1981, Tambra married the love of her life, Jeffrey Asbury, in 1984. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming two sons, Corey and Jarrett.

A dedicated homemaker, Tambra also worked at Whitesville State Bank, where her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on both colleagues and customers. Her colleagues often remarked on her incredible ability to make everyone feel valued, appreciated and offering a laugh.

Tambra's joy for life was evident in her hobbies, particularly her love for playing cards and Yahtzee with family and friends. Her laughter and competitive spirit during these games were infectious and will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of joining her.

Her three grandchildren, Mia, Myla, and Kambry, were the light of her life. Tambra cherished every moment spent with them, and her nurturing spirit and creative energy left a profound impact on their young hearts.

Tambra was known for her compassionate nature, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand to those in need. Her sense of humor brought smiles to many faces, and her ability to bring people together was unparalleled. Her life was a beacon of love and empathy, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Tambra's memory will be cherished by her husband, Jeffrey Asbury, her sons Corey and Jarrett, her cherished grandchildren, her brothers Timmy and Terry, and her many cherished friends and family who stood by her side throughout her journey.

A service to honor Tambra's life will be held on August 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pineview Cemetery Mausoleum, located at 21557 Coal River Road, Orgas, WV 25148. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Tambra's memory.
