Stella Delinda Griffis, 58, of Madison, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2025.
Delinda was born on June 8, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William Leon ("Bill") and Joan Griffis (née Stone).
Delinda was a devoted grandmother, and she cherished moments with her granddaughter dearly. She was a loving mother, daughter, friend, and she would do anything for the ones she loved. She was a homemaker, and always maintained a passion for geology, archaeology, petrology, and lifelong learning. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, forever remembered in our hearts, and never forgotten.
She is survived by her children, Jerri Lynn Walls, of Asheboro, North Carolina, Justen Burdette, of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, and Robert Lamar Keith ("Bobby") Griffis, of Madison, West Virginia; and her granddaughter, Hannah Lynn Walls, also of Asheboro. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Karen Holbrook Griffis, of Van, and Lisa Griffis-Dickens, of Strongsville, Ohio; her nieces, Lori (Justin) LaRosa, of Powell, Ohio, Sara Griffis, of Medina, Ohio, and Desireé Griffis Buskirk, of Brunswick, Ohio; her nephew, Jeremiah (Madison) Griffis, of Parkersburg; and her brother, Robert Dale Griffis, of Charleston. She also has many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her brothers, William David Griffis of Van, and Ernest Dean Griffis of Strongsville, Ohio.
Arrangements will be held at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, West Virginia, on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Friends and family are invited to join beginning at 4:00pm, with services beginning at 5:00pm.
