Stella Irene Brogan

Stella Irene Brogan of Sod, WV passed away peacefully Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 67 years old. 

She was born January 26, 1959 to the late Ben and Mae Cochran. Stella went to Guyan Valley High School and later in life proceeded a career as a CNA. Stella is fondly remembered as a christian woman, devoted mother, loving grandmother, and a friend to many others. Her warm smile and kind heart would make anyones day. She loved to garden, sew, cook, and admire beautiful art. Her favorite joy was being with family. 

In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her late husband, Danny Brogan Jr.; her son, Wayne Hager III; her brothers, Robert Cochran, Eugene Cochran, and Lester Cochran; and her sisters, Anna Smith, Justine Purkey, and Macil Cochran. 

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Greg (Jamie) Estep and Dottie (Jeremy White) Hager; grandchildren, Heather (Trevor) Burgess, Troy Estep, Gary (Britany Watson) Canterbury), Krissa (Joeseph Rutledge) Canterbury, Tyra Breedlove, and Xavier Hindman Mac McDerment; great grandchildren, Brayson Watson, Saberlon Fisher, Enzleigh Rutledge, Ryker Rutledge, and Addalyn Curry; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026 Hamilton Creek Church in Ranger, WV with JR Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Arnold Cemetery in Ranger, WV.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
