In 1982 he took a position again at the Madison Police Department in 1982 and became Police Chief and remained there until he had to take an early retirement due to health problems on June 1, 1995. Being an entrepreneur as Roy was, he met the most important challenge of his life. He met the love of his life Lucille (Perkins) Browning, in whom he married on Dec. 18, 1992. After retirement they decided to move in 1996 to Murray,KY and start a new life. He resided in Murry until May 21, 2011. He lost the love of his life, Lucille, on August 4, 2011.
