Roy Douglas Blevins

Roy Douglas Blevins, 73, of Nitro West Virginia passed away on October 31, 2025, after a long illness.

He was a 1970 graduate of Overlea Senior High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the lead guitar player for his band in the 70’s in Baltimore, Maryland. He proudly served his country in the Air Force and in the Air National Guard until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian A. Blevins, his parents, Ernest and Nellie (Hayes) Blevins, his parents-in-law, Rexel and Lucille Egnor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Debbie (Egnor) Blevins, His son, Douglas Blevins. His grandchildren, Sabian Blevins, Lakin Blevins, Shane Barnes and Savannah Paige Burford. His sister, Sheila (Blevins) Roark and his Aunt Juanita Blevins (Aunt John) He is also survived by a very special Little Man whom he loved with all his heart, Preston Lee Toney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in Egnor Cemetery, Alkol.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
