Robert “Bobby Joe” Legg, 80, of Wharton passed away April 13, 2015 at his home in Wharton, WV after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sibyl McClure Legg Peters and Shelly Legg both of Wharton; sister, Ann Bowling of Twilight; and son, Eric Legg also of Twilight.
Bobby Joe is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Vonna; sister, Gloria Endicott of Point Pleasant; son, Timmy Legg of Van; daughter, Kacie Atha and her husband Christopher of Charleston; grandchildren, Jesika, Colton, Jacob, Morgan and Avery; and two great-grandchildren, Boston and Rylea.
Bobby Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved golfing, hunting, fishing and ginsenging. He was a member of UMWA Local 781 and was a “sinner saved by grace”.
Service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Matthew Johner and Paul Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey-Toler Cemetery, Greenwood.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time prior to the service.
