Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Gambill, born in Man, West Virginia, on January 8, 1972, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on September 25, 2026, at 5:05 p.m. at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, after a long and difficult health battle.
Becky was one of the kindest souls to set foot on this earth. She loved traveling, going to the beach, trying new places to eat, and most importantly, spending time with her friends and family. Words cannot describe the love she held for those closest to her.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Calvin Roy Tomblin; her mother- and father-in-law, Collee and Grant Gambill; her “mamaw,” Mary Stamper; her grandparents, Genevieve and Harry M. Grimmett; her uncle, Harry Eugene “Gene” Grimmett; and her brother-in-law, Tony Lee Gambill.
Becky is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Gary Wayne Gambill; their son, Ashton Blake Gambill, and his partner, Anthony Lee Lovejoy; Katie Elkins, whom she loved like her own daughter; her mother, Drema Sue Tomblin; her sisters, Sandra (Albert) Murphy and Angelia Tomblin; her best friends, Donna (Brian) White, Angela (Steven) King, and Sheila (Johnny) Haynes; her uncle, Mike (Cindy) Grimmett; her aunt, Sandy (Steve) Southern; her sisters-in-law, Jackie Wasserman, Judy (Gary Max) Bowen, Colleen (Brian) Carpenter, and Cheryl Lester; her brother-in-law, Willie (Barbara) Gambill; her nieces, Kayla (TJ) Williamson, Mackenzie Murphy, Kayleigh Laws, Brandi (Dana) Adkins, Tiffany (Jason) Caserta, Blair Gambill, Stacie (Matt) Ellis, Jessica (Storm) Stevens, and Candace (Chris) Box; her nephews, Landon Laws, Gary Max (Stacy) Bowen, Craig (Angie) Bowen, and Grant (Nikki) Gambill; her great-niece, Delilah Williamson; and many other great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.
A celebration of life for Becky will be held at Kistler Church on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2 p.m.
Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV is assisting the family.
