Raymond Melvin Jaynes

Raymond M.Jaynes 94 of Hamlin passed away March 2 2025 at St.Marys Hospital. Born June 2 1930 to the Late Jesse R. Jaynes and Grace Scaggs Jaynes. 

He was proceeded in death by his wife Reva Turley Jaynes and Brother Shannon Jaynes. 

He has one sister living Patty Chapman Gwen.

Son Jay Jaynes and his wife Cindy Standage Jaynes of Mesa Arizona. His Grandson Tanner H.Jaynes Lubbock TX Two Bonus Granddaughters Bonnie Jean Hawkes and Shelby Standage of Mesa AZ. 3 Bonus Great Grandchildren. 

Navy Korean Veteran he was assigned to the USS Nicholas Destroyer. 

He had a long career at CSX railroad as a Carmen. 

He loved family animals gardening and most of all teaching Sunday school at Hamlin Baptist Church.

He walked this earth as a Disciple of Christ. His Faith and Example are his legacy he left for his family and all those that knew him.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV.. The burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery, Hamlin, WV.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
