Randy Mitchell Adkins, 71, of Madison, WV passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Boone Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 13, 1955 at the McClellan Clinic in West Hamlin, WV.

Preceding him in death are his father and mother, Deward and Willa Gay Adkins, and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Florence Pennington.

Randy graduated from Guyan Valley High School in 1973. He worked as a coal miner for 30 years and retired from Patriot Coal Company in 2014. He was of the Christian faith. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. He also loved vacationing in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Linda Adkins, and his sister, Pamela Adkins. Randy is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Sloan-Triplett Cemetery in Branchland, WV, with Tim Davis officiating.
