Phyllis Ann Tipton

Phyllis Ann Tipton, 72, of Blair, WV departed from this life on March 15, 2026 after a long fight with illness. She was born on November 14, 1953 in Accoville, WV to the late Jessie James and Polly Ruth Ann (Toler) Burgess.

Phyllis lived life to her full extent. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with Greg, growing flowers and sitting on the patio with friends. She loved when family or friends stopped by to chat and calling her sister-in-laws, Patricia and Janet, on the daily. Phyllis loved cuddling her precious dog, snowball.

Phyllis Ann Tipton is proceeded in death by her daughter Ruthie (Burgess) Tipton, her son Robert Wayne Tipton (Bevis) alongside her parents, Jessie James and Polly Ruth Ann Burgess. In addition to four sisters Nora Burgess, Patty Ferguson, Lois Lundy and Mary Ann Burgess; six brothers William Carlos Burgess, Denny Ray Burgess, Frank Eugene Burgess, Ozie Burgess, Roger Dale Burgess and Russell Burgess. Her mother-in-law and friend, Edith Tipton and special sister-in-law Patricia Burgess.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Gregory (Greg) Tipton, her sister Janice Gay Booth, her brothers Larry Burgess, and Millard (Kathy) Burgess. Sister-in-law and friend Janet Burgess, sister-in-law Treasa (Roy) Aldridge and brother-in-law Samual Tipton, alongside her nephew Sammy (April) Tipton.

Services for Phyllis will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Browning Cemetery, in Blair, WV.
