Phillip Ray Hill

Phillip R. Hill, 61, of Julian, WV passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Jack Hill; grandparents, Jennie and Albert Shaffer and Erma and Robert Hill.

Phil worked for himself for many years as an owner-operator long haul truck driver, under the Hill’s Trucking name.  Phil drove for well over one million miles during his career.  He enjoyed hunting, working on cars, guns, and spending time with his daughters.  Of all the titles he had, father was the highest one he held.  He was always there for anyone who needed a hand.

He is survived by his daughter, Brandi Hill and her wife, his daughter-daughter, as he called her, Lindsie Thomas-Hill of Scott Depot; his two dachshunds, Jack and Oscar; his two granddogs, Avarie and Bo-Bo; nephew, Matthew Clark and his wife Karen of Bloomingrose; cousins, Judy Hampton and Lisa Nichols; close friends, Dave and Lisa Nelson, the Breedlove family, and Tony Ward; a sister and brother-in-law of Foster; two nieces; and several great nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25 at Handley Funeral Home with Chuck Gillispie officiating.  Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery, Julian, WV.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
