Phillip Warren Belcher Sr. 80, died peacefully and at rest at his home in Branchland, WV after a brief bout with cancer on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Kathleen (Price) Belcher of Glen Daniels, WV; and brothers Randy Keatts Belcher, Eddie Belcher of Bald Knob, and Robert Belcher of Wharton, WV.
He is survived by his son Phillip W. Belcher Jr. "Shalako" of Branchland, WV; brothers Theodore Belcher of Morgantown, WV and Sammy Belcher of Glen Daniels, WV; sister Kay Gore of Leesburg. FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by many, a friend to all, and forever in search of adventure.
He was a 20+ year veteran of the United States Army/Army Reserve National Guard serving with the 509th PIR in Minz Germany ad the 19th and 20th SF groups of the ARNG. He had 10 years of service with the Eastern Associated Coal. He also had 10 years of service with Jim Walters Resources, Brookwood, AL.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Matt Johner officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Jab Workman Cemetery, Bald Knob, WV.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. until service time.
