Orville Moore, 79, of Clothier, WV went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2012.
He was born May 24, 1933 and was a son of the late Lawrence and Cora Sanders Moore. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Huey Moore; and one sister, Marjorie Vankovich.
Orville was a member of the Bright Star Freewill Baptist Church at Melville, WV for 22 years. He served in the United States Navy for eight years; and was a former bus driver for Boone County with 14 years of service. He loved attending church, working in the garden and cooking.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Merrial Moore; children, Tiny Moore of Hampshire County, WV, Sue Sizemore Acord of Mullens, WV, Darren Moore also of Mullens, WV and Jerry Moore of Florida. He is also survived by stepchildren, David (Jeanette) Adkins of Hickory, NC, Dreama Adkins of Madison, WV and Doris (Steve) McComas of Danville, WV; grandchildren, Jason and Brian Moore, Crissy Parsons, Shandrea and Aaron Sizemore, Jacob and Kassy Moore, Dena Griffin, Andrea Adkins, Brandon and Brent Tomblin, Tabitha and Steven McComas; six-great-grandchildren, Nathan, Logan, Keith, Layne, Kennadee and Karrigan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2012, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. George Leese and the Rev. Basil Goodman officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone Post 5578 of Madison, WV.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
