Mavis Ann Casto, 82, of Hewett, WV passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Born in June of 1943 in Lake, WV to the late Henry and Orpha Pridemore, Mavis enjoyed attending church, quilting, fishing, and especially family time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Pridemore, and her sister, Frances (Virgil) Ellis.

Mavis is survived by her husband, Karl Dale Casto; son, Gary (Karen) Casto; daughters, Shella (Richard) Mitchell and Trena (Kenny) Adkins; three grandchildren: Ronnie, Scotty, and Joshua; six great-grandchildren: Cheyanne, Mallory, Jackson, Jacob, Jase, and Remington; one great-great-grandbaby, Clay; and her beloved puppy dog, Maggie.

Services for Mavis will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Walter Gore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Family Gardens on Low Gap Rd., Danville, WV.
