Mark Allen Kennedy, 55, of Williams Mountain, WV passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 due to a short illness.
He was a man that will always be remembered as an irreplaceable father, son, husband, grandfather, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, teacher, mentor, and coach. He had a true passion for sports, especially football, and more importantly helping/watching his children and pupils succeed. He is known for his vivacious sense of humor and every single person that ever met him has a funny story or joke to remember.
He is survived by his parents, Glenn and Linda Kennedy of Quick; his wife, Sarah Kennedy of Williams Mountain; his children, Megan Kennedy (Teresa Samuels) of Logan, Christopher “Bub” Kennedy (Jacklynn) of Eleanor, Tyler Kennedy (Morgan) of Nitro, Hallie Halley (Chris) of Uneeda, Chris Kennedy of Eleanor, J.T. Kennedy of Man, Allen, Brooklynn, Alexis, Jaelynn and Dakota Kennedy of Williams Mountain; his siblings, Rona Litton (Craig) of Montrose, Shawn Kennedy of Kentucky, and Matthew Kennedy (Amanda) of Chesepeake; his grandchildren, Bentley, Luke and Levi Halley of Uneeda, Gavin and Kylee Kennedy of Nitro, Xander, T.D. and Anakin Kennedy of Eleanor, and Jacob Kennedy of Logan; along with literally countless cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, pupils, and friends.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Mark’s name to your local midget football teams.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 18 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Scotty Elswick and Chuck Gillispie officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Cemetery, Alkol, WV. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
