Mark Dewayne Messer, 63, of Danville, WV departed from this life Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at WVU Medicine - Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, WV.

He was born on July 23, 1962 to the late Noah and Goldie (Meeks) Messer. Mark loved the outdoors, whether he was four-wheeling, working on cars, yellowrooting, or ginsenging, Mark enjoyed it all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Reenie Messer and Henry and Macie Meeks; his brothers, Jimmy Messer and David Messer; his sister, Diana (Messer) Nottingham; his nephew, Timmy Messer; and his niece, Shannon Messer.

Those left to cherish Mark’s memory are his girlfriend, the love of his life, Susan Dixon; daughters Madeline (Jack) Browning and Kristen (Derick) Smith; sister Katrina SeBolt; three grandchildren; and special friends Lois K. Atkins and Bobby Jo Brown. Mark is also survived by a host of friends from the old stomping grounds of Mud Fork and Dempsey Branch, including a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends -- Erica Messer, Ashley Messer, Robby Sebolt, Chris Nottingham, Gloria and James Hurley

Graveside services for Mark will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025 at Memory Gardens on Low Gap Road in Madison, WV. Services will be officiated by Phil Rowe.
