She was born February 6, 1940 to the late James R. Brown Sr. and Adelene Brown. Marcella was married to the love of her life Ronald Blake for 54 years until his passing. They were the parents of Teresa Ann Blake Cox. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister Nellie Warrer.

She taught Sunday School and was President of Ladies Ministry, and led Y.P.E. service and was a great choir leader. She loved going to church and said many times she had the best congregation to worship God with. She would rather be in church than anywhere. She loved to sing and play her guitar.

She loved spending time with her family, having cook outs and roasting marshmallows with her grandson Justin and his wife Brittany whom she loves so deeply. And her grandchildren that filled her heart with joy and love. She loved spending time with her daughter going shopping and eating out.
