Luther Hall

Luther Hall, 90, of Patriot Ohio, formerly of Madison WV, crossed over to Heaven on February 20, 2022 at CAMC Memorial Hospice Care.

Luther was born on May 26, 1931, in Belo, WV to Ballard and Sinda Hall. He spent 42 years as a proud Coal Miner. He retired from Cannelton Industries, where he was a Dozer Operator working side by side with his son Eddie. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Community Church. Luther was also a Mason for 54 years, where he became Past Master Mason, with the O’Dell Lodge #115 in Madison, WV.

Luther is survived by his daughters Sherri Lynn Richmond (Bobby), of Jeffrey WV and Mary Black (Freddy) of Lynchburg VA, in addition to his daughter-in-law Janie Hall of Seth, WV. His granddaughters are Jennifer Richmond Bryant (Christopher) of Ottawa WV, Brandi Black Thacker (Bobby) of Lynchburg VA, Chrissy Richmond Johnson (Ryan), of Russell KY. His grandsons are Brian Hall (Shannon), of Elkview WV, Garrett Hall (Karen), of Blacksburg VA and Dustin Black (Lynn) of Mechanicsville VA . Luther's great grandchildren are Sarah Blair Johnson (Robert), Drew Blair, Aidan Blair, Amber Hall, Gavin Hall, Owen Black, Colton Thacker, and Becca Black. He is also survived by his sister Hulda Hendricks, his brother Ben Hall his sister-in-law Margaret Hall Smith and special friend Carol Cox.

In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Honaker Hall of 48 years, his son Luther “Eddie” Hall, his great grandson Chad Lee Hall as well as three of his sisters and five brothers.

The Funeral Service for Luther will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 24th at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Donald Kerns officiating. Friends may call between 1pm -2pm prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Luther’s grandsons Brian Hall and Garrett Hall, great grandsons Drew Blair and Aidan Blair, and grandsons-in-law, Christopher Bryant and Ryan Johnson. Burial will take place at Family Gardens.
