Lucy Jane Canterbury, 73, of Madison, WV, entered into the presence of the Lord on November 18, 2025 following a brief illness.

Lucy was born on December 14, 1951, to Paul and Beulah White of Madison, WV. After graduating from Sharples High School, she started a family and became an amazing mother. Lucy devoted her life to her family, friends, and God. She prayed to God every day to look over those she held so dear to her heart. Lucy had a lifelong passion for music and always enjoyed a comedy that could make her smile. Her favorite place in the world was the beach. She would stay on the beach for hours and enjoy God’s creation. Lucy had a gentle soul and wanted the best for those around her. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and never wavered to support them in their time of need.

Lucy was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Beulah White; her sisters Susie Meade (Dewey Meade) and Paula Baldwin (Danny Baldwin).

She is survived by her children James Bradford II of Clarksburg, Ambra Price (Loren Price) of Uneeda, and Jordan Bradford (Ashley Bradford) of Huntington. She also leaves behind her brother, Joe Lane (Betty Lane) of Sharples and sister, Sandy Miller (Foy Miller) of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren, Codi Bradford, Lala Price, and Ben and Brady Bradford were the most precious people in her life. They will miss her tremendously.

Visitation to honor Lucy’s life will be held at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, November 24th at Monclo Freewill Baptist Church, Sharples, WV. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with her brother Joe Lane and Dennie Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Family Gardens Cemetery in Low Gap, WV. Friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate her memory.
