Linda Lou Chafin

Linda Lou Chafin, 79, of Ridgeview, WV passed away January 15, 2024.  She was born May 28, 1944, a daughter of the late Delbert and Imogene Woodrum.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Woodrum; husband Richard Ecker; and sister-in-law Barbra Woodrum.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Viars (Dreama) of Ridgeview, WV and Brett Viars (Meg) of Summerfield, FL; two daughters, Nedra Townley (Victor) of Weirsdale, FL and Paula Bailey of Summerfield, FL; two brothers, Rodger Woodrum of Bluefield, WV and Kenny Woodrum (Elaine); 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her aunt, Delores Cook.

Linda was very involved in church and attended The United Methodist Church in Madison, WV.  She was a member of the VFW 5578 Auxiliary in Madison, WV.  A volunteer for West Virginia Coal Festival Inc. in Madison, WV.  She also loved to travel and spend time with family.  She was an artist, gardener, a schoolteacher, accountant, and she loved shopping for the best sales.  She was a beautiful, loving mother and grandmother and always put others before herself.  She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 21 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Pastor Robert Fulton officiating.  Burial will follow in O.A. Eastep Cemetery, Ridgeview, WV.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. on Sunday until service time.
