Lenna Veneal Thompson

Lenna Veneal Thompson 75 of Chapmanville WV peacefully passed away on October 3, 2026. She was born March 26, 1951 in Lynch, KY to the late Hillard and Vivian Halcomb.

Lenna was a 1969 graduate of Sharples High School. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring, sewing and working puzzles. She also enjoyed flowers, cats and reading books.

In addition to her parents, Lenna was preceded in death by her husband Willard Mac Thompson, Sr her son Willard Mac Thompson, Jr. and her brother- in- law Chester Chafin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Teresa (Thomas) McCormick of Chapmanville, WV, granddaughters, Tabitha (Colton) Farley of Cross Lanes, WV and Tonya McCormick of Huntington WV; great grandson, Jeremiah Farley, sisters, Margaret Chafin and Francie (Chuck) Collins; nieces and nephews, Sarah (Joe) Kostuch, Candy Collins, Curt (Katie) Collins, Chester (Ann) Chafin, Dale Casterline and Dwayne Casterline; special family Eldon Chafin, Emily Casterline and Emmett and Ruth Bias along with a host of family and friends.

Mommy’s greatest blessings were her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson, Jeremiah or as she would say her “JC”. She is now fully healed with no more heartache or pain but, she will forever be loved and missed.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2026 Halcomb Cemetery, Line Fork, KY with Rev. John Curry officiating.
