Kenny R. Stowers

February 12, 1961 — August 16, 2025

Danville, WV

Kenny Ralph Stowers, 64, of Cox's Fork, Danville, WV was born February 12th, 1961 and went to his eternal resting place on August 16th, 2025 after a long hard sickness at home. He was surrounded by his family and is now resting peacefully and pain free.

To know Kenny, was to know a best friend. He was always just a phone call away and would give his last 10 dollars if he thought you needed it. He would give the shirt off his back even if it was his only one. There were times towards the end that he knew his time was coming, but he never shed a tear. He knew he was going be cancer free and fishing in the eternal rivers with his loved ones.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father Ralph “Pete” Stowers; paternal grandparents, Soder and Estie Stowers; maternal grandparents Hub and Shirley Pritchard; long term girlfriend Elizabeth “Beth” McNeely Brown; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his mother Gloria Dean Stowers of Danville; son, Josh (Samantha) Stowers of Nellis; daughter Lindsey (Austin) Pruitt of Julian; granddaughters, Ryleigh and Baylee Stowers of Nellis; sister, Lisa (Steve) Houchins of Madison; nephews Andrew (Becka) Buckner, Eric (Melissa) Buckner, and Cody (Heather) Buckner; great nephew, Casen Buckner; and great nieces, Jacelyn Buckner and Olivia Buckner. He also leaves behind many friends, a few special recognitions that he would want to mention would be his ex-wife and longtime friend Carol Bentley; his nephew Dusty Bentley who never left his side during his hospital stay in Morgantown; his “buddies” Jerry and Martha Tackett, along with Amy Halstead and her son Jax who he thought of as a grandson.

He would always say, being a grandparent was the best gift he could ever have, even when he was feeling down, his granddaughters lifted him up. He forgot about all the sickness and all the pain. And in that moment, he was free. His grandkids were his entire world.

Nobody will ever be able to replace Kenny, but his spirit will live on, and be felt anytime you are on the banks of Anthony’s creek, where he loved spending every trout season. Even though he is gone, we find peace knowing he’s waiting for us all, with a container of float bait and a fishing pole - ready to show us up and catch the biggest fish.
