John "Tony" Workman

John “Tony” Workman, 53, of West Madison, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison.
He was born August 4, 1958 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Charles R. Workman and Shirley Turner Workman Babb. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Marie Workman; and grandparents, Jay and Mami Workman and Herbert and Trevia Turner.
He had 13 years of service with Peabody Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA. He was a paramedic for Boone County Ambulance Authority for the last 20 years doing a job he loved. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and motorcycle riding. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church and attended Left Fork Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Tonya Workman; sons, John and Eli Workman; brother, Keith Workman; step-father, Mercer R. Babb; and many family members and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 3 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Fred Workman officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
