Jimmy Carl Castle, 74, of Bim, WV passed away Monday, January 12, 2026. He was born February 15, 1951 and was a son of the late Curtis and Ina Castle of Twilight, WV.
He is survived by his wife Susan of 54 years, whom he adored and cherished; daughters, Malena Castle Mooney of Bim, WV, Melissa Castle Myers and Ricky of Mooresville, NC, and Rachel Castle Harless and Brian of Barrett, WV; his brothers, Jesse Castle of Danville, WV and Gene Castle of Madison, WV; sisters, Betty Penix of Dayton, OH and Ann Brady of Elkins, WV; grandchildren, Curtis Mooney, Molly Myers, Madalynn Harless, Bejamin Harless, and a granddaughter who will be born March of 2026, baby girl Harless; and a great granddaughter to be born March of 2026, Ivy Mae Mooney. Also surviving Jimmy is a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jimmy attended Bim Freewill Baptist Church and loved Jesus. He was a member of the UMWA Local 1503. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved everything about the outdoors including fishing, hunting, Molly Mooching, berry picking, and gardening. Jimmy prioritized, adored, and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Jimmy loved taking his grandchildren hunting and also taking them fishing at Smith Mountain Lake. He was always cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He loved baseball and softball growing up and in his adult years, he loved watching Westerns.
Jimmy always had an endless supply of Slim Jms, Oreos, Ice Cream, egg sandwiches, mountain candy and TV dinners. He loved RC and Moon Pies. Jimmy loved sharing a sweet snack with his wife and loved reading and studying the Bible with her.
Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Scotty Elswick officiating. Jimmy will be buried in Danville Memorial Park on Indian Grave Road, Danville, WV.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. on Saturday until service time.
