Janet Sias

Janet Sias, 63, of Branchland, WV passed away on February 22, 2024. She was the wife of John Allen Sias with whom she was married for 33 years. She was the proud mother of Jessica Lynn Sias.

Born in West Hamlin, WV, she was the daughter of Roma and Dorothy Parsons also of Branchland. She graduated Guyan Valley High School in 1979.  She is survived by her siblings Michael (Barbara) Parsons of Branchland, Patty (Tim) Warner of Ona, WV, Lou Vaughn of La Place, LA, Jeff Parsons of San Francisco, CA and Angelia Parsons of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews.  

Our mother and sister was the person who united the family and kept all returning to their family home on Trace Fork in Branchland. Janet had a deep love of gardening and flowers, often spending hours tending to her garden and helping in Jessica’s greenhouse.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 11am at McGhee Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin with Paul Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Dot and Roma Parsons cemetery Branchland. Viewing will be held Monday, February 26 from 6-8pm.
