Janet F. Blankenship Miles, 72, of Jeffrey, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Boone Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 23, 1940 at Lake, WV and was a daughter of the late Ray and Myrtle Blankenship. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Blankenship and Glen Blankenship; and one sister, Helen Ball.
Janet was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church. She retired from Boone Memorial Hospital with 30 years of service as a Medical Records Technician. She was a precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Maurice Miles; two daughters, Libby (Joey) Akers of NC and Sherri (John) Bennett of AL; one son, Scott (Terri) Miles of CO; one sister, Nada Ellis of OH; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeff) Brannen of AL, Tiffany Bennett of AL, Kelsey Jo Akers of NC, Tanner Miles of CO, Nicholle (Tim) McNabb of NC, Jodie Akers of NC and Shane Gragg of MS; and one great-grandson, Easton Miles Brannen of CO. She also leaves behind many loved ones and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 14 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Roger McCauley and Harold Ray Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
