James Levi Fowler, 41, of Camp Creek, Julian, WV, Boone County passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, of a heart attack after a long battel of congestive heart failure at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 21, 1984 (The Very Best Christmas Gift), to the late James E. “Coonie” Fowler and the late Debra Fowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Grandfather Jolly R. Fowler, Grandmother Janetta Thompson, and Grandfather Freddy Thompson; Uncle Richard Fowler; and his best friend Keith Linville whom he called his brother.
Levi is survived by his precious Grandmother, Ann Fowler whom he made his home with, and he loved her more than life; his Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends; his very best friend and companion his dog “Chubs”; and his special love, Sarah Fowler.
He was a graduate of Scott High School. Levi was an avid fan of Marshall and WVU and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved football and played from a small child, (where his father Coonie coached) through school.
Levi’s passion was fishing and was he ever a fisherman. He could catch a fish when no one else could. He would rather fish than eat. He always had his rod and reel and fishing tackle close by in case he ran upon a fishing hole.
He was free-hearted, always willing to lend a helping hand. His time was short but touched lots of people. He was always ready for an adventure.
There will be a graveside service at 2 :00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2026 in Memory Gardens on Low Gap Road, Danville, WV with Jimmy Lawrence officiating. Handley Funeral Home in Danville is assisting the family.
