Specialist James Darin Cox, 55, of Alkol, WV passed away on November 12, 2021 while trying to save another life.
He was a graduate of Duval High School class of 1984, veteran of the US Army and a retiree from the Huntington Fire Department after 11 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Anita and Denzil Cox of Alkol.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nichole and Ronald Egnor of Alkol; his son, James Ray Cox of Hamlin, WV; daughter, Robyn Elizabeth Vaughn and son-in-law Dustin Vaughn of Alkol, WV; and daughter, Britney Joyce Cox of Huntington, WV.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 17 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park on Indian Grave Road, Danville, WV with full military honors performed by the American Legion of Hamlin, WV and an accompanying honor guard from the Huntington Fire Department.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 please wear a mask when attending the visitation and the services.
