James Hershel Aleshire, 83, of Blair, WV passed away February 2, 2013 at his home.
He was born March 23, 1929 at Blair, WV and was a son of the late James H. and Gola Harless Aleshire. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Aleshire; a son, Rodney Aleshire; one brother, Paul Ellis; and five sisters, Audrey Smith, Emilone Browning, Maudie Burgess, Eva Gay Aleshire and Nadene Burgess.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA.
He is survived by his son, Jerry (Jeannie) Aleshire of Blair; his daughter, Karen (Bill) Norman of Ottawa; grandchildren, Howard (Trish)Aleshire, Shannon (Mark) Lilly, Jerri Aleshire, Sonny Norman, and B. J. Norman; great- grandchildren, Liam Lilly, Mackenzie Norman, Zoie Pauley, Lilly Norman, Howie Aleshire and Khyrstyne Williams; sister, Justine Baldwin; and brother, William (Bill) Aleshire.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with John Steele officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
