Jackie Bethel Spencer, 86, of Hewett passed away January 25, 2021.
He was born May 19, 1934 and was a son of the late Aubrey Basil and Bertie Opal Ball Spencer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Daphene West; brothers, Orville Spencer and Ivan Spencer; first wife, Frances Spencer and second wife, Betty Spencer.
He was a retired coal miner for Perry Hilton Coal Company. Jackie loved to sing and play bluegrass and gospel music.
He is survived by his son, Seigle Ray Spencer of Hewett; brothers, Dale Spencer of Danville and Don Spencer of Danville; sisters, Norene Baldwin (Bob) of Lake, Carol Lester of Lake, and Sharon (Daniel) Craddock of Lake; grandchildren, Jaime Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 27 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with the Rev. Roger McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in Wallen Cemetery, Mikes Fork Road, Hewett, WV.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be observed, with mask and social distancing encouraged.
