Gregory E. Chambers, 70, of Danville, WV departed this life on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

He was born December 16, 1955 at the Glover Clinic in Madison, WV to the late Leonard and Mattie Chambers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Jean Kirby, and his brothers, Larry W. Chambers and Drannon L. Chambers.

He was a 1974 graduate of Scott High School. Greg made his living as a coal miner, dedicating 38 years of service to Eastern Associated Coal, Peabody Coal, and Patriot Coal Company. Greg’s zest for life was for the great outdoors. He enjoyed NFL Football and WVU Basketball. He also had a love for the ocean.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Linda Chambers; daughter, Sheena M. Chambers; and brother, Don Buell Chambers. Greg also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Services for Greg will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Harley Egnor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens on Low Gap Road, Danville, WV.
