Gladie Mae Ferguson Massey 78 of Wharton, WV passed away June 26, 2021 at home.
She was a homemaker and member of the Greenwood Church of God since 1978, Secretary for Ladies Ministries for the majority of that time, lead singer of the Greenwood Gospel Travelers for 36 years, and congregation song leader for many of those years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Green; husband, William R. Massey and a grandson Roman Midkiff.
She is survived by her daughters, Julia Foster, Teresa Midkiff, Lisa Massey all from Wharton, WV; brothers, Joseph “Bubby”(Peggy) Green of Danville, WV and Tony(Frances) Green of Charleston, WV; sister, Rhonda Toler of Wharton, WV; grandchildren, Joshua Massey of Wharton, WV, Cody Massey of Madison, WV, Shayna Thompson of Madison, WV Jordan Midkiff of Wharton, WV, and Stephen (Ericka) Midkiff of Hartford, KY; great grandchildren, Caydence and Devin Massey of Van, WV Jacoby and Branston Wood of Madison, WV, Autumn and Parker Midkiff of Hartford, KY; a host of nieces and nephews .
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, Greenwood Church of God with Shelia Workman, Rev. Donnie Elam and Wayne Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Indian Grave Rd. Danville, WV.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenwood Church of God, Greenwood.
