George W. Scott, Sr 87 of Alkol went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2018 at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehab in Danville.
He fought a courageous battle with Dementia.
George was the son of the late Ingram and Florence Stone Scott. He was a member of the Morrisvale Missionary Baptist Church for 33 years. He loved God, family and friends most of all. He retired from Hobet Mining, a proud member of the UMWA Local 2286 with 30 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jennifer Graley Scott; sons, Damon & Vickey Scott, Larry and Linda Scott, Dennis Scott and the late George Scott,Jr.; daughter, Deidra Stone; adopted family Nick and Valerie Loftis and four children, and Danny Morris; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; brother, David and Sandy Scott; sisters, Anna Adams and Wanda and John Howell and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who adored him.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday March 27, 2018 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with David Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
