Gene Richard Ulbrich, 78, of Ottawa, WV passed away Saturday, April 5, 2026.

Gene was born September 21, 1947 to the late Otto and Eva Ulbrich. He was an Army veteran; a disabled coal miner and a member of UMWA.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Ulbrich; two sons, Gene Richard Ulbrich II (Dawn) and Daniel Lee Ulbrich (Alissa); grandchildren, Dylan, Braylon, Brandon, Kayla (Michael), Chelsea Ulbrich; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Joe Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens on Low Gap Road, Madison, WV with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post 5578 of Madison, WV.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
