Freda Mae Jones

With profound sadness and love, we announce the passing of Freda Mae Jones, age 94, of Hewett, West Virginia, who departed this life on the morning of June 25, 2025, after a long and courageous recovery journey following a fall in early March.

Freda was a remarkable woman — strong in spirit, deeply loving, and full of grace. She lived a life rich with stories, kindness, and laughter, touching all who knew her. She and her family shared unforgettable adventures and cherished time together. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her warmth and legacy will live on in our hearts.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Jones, her son, Gary Richard White, and her daughter, Karen Gail White Wilkinson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Mark White and Paul Jones (Melody); grandchildren Jeneane Grey, Richie Wilkinson (Melissa), Shannah Jones Wilcox (Michael), Mary Beth Taylor & Michelle Taylor; great-grandchildren Alysca Akers, Talon Akers, Jaxon Wilkinson, Maelyn & Jenson Wilcox; great-great grandson Ariah Null.

Funeral services for Freda will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Ginger Dials officiating. Visitation to be held one hour prior to the service.
