Eric Shannon (Shady) Harless, 55, of Cazy, WV passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, peacefully at home after a long illness.

He was born July 15, 1971 in Boone County, WV and was the son of Dallas and Barbara Harless, who he missed so much. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Shannon lived a simple life. He worked for the Department of Highways – Boone County, WV for many years, until his health no longer allowed him to work. He was a member of the Brothers of the Wheel – Boone Chapter. He loved riding his Harley Davidson. The greatest love of his life was his son, Braydon.

Shannon is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Braydon; sisters, Valerie (Kevin) Jividen of Sumerco, WV and Kimberly (Mike) Davis of Hurricane; mother and father-in-law, Neva and Donnie Stone of Danville, WV; nephew, Gabriel Myers of Sumerco, WV; Julianna (fiancé, Danny Wilcox) Jividen of Red House, WV; niece, Abby Stone of Danville, WV; uncle, Wilburn (Dinah) Gunnoe of Wilkesville, WV; and uncle, Robert (Betty) Gunnoe of Clendenin, WV. He is also survived by a host of cousins, family, and friends.

Services for Shannon will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Robert Gunnoe and Wilburn Gunnoe officiating. 

Visitation to be held one hour prior to the service.
