Emory Lester Browning, 83, of Morrisvale, WV went to be with the Lord on July 1st 2024 after a long illness. He was born September 19, 1940 in Cameo, WV. Emory gave his life to the Lord on November 17, 2023. Something that his late wife Alice would have loved to have seen.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Browning, father and mother, Linford and Thelma Browning and his older brother Dallas Browning.
Emory served in the US Army and after leaving the military he began working as a blasting foreman for Hobet Mining. Several years later he opened his own business in Danville called Deisel Electric, which he ran for nearly 25 years. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his 4-wheeler, and feeding the deer.
Emory leaves behind two sons Robert Browning (Aimee) of Morrisvale, Brian Browning (Judy) of Danville, daughter Lisa Green (Buddy) of Trinity, AL; Grandchildren: Nate Browning (Taylor) of Teays Valley, Haley Browning, Greensboro, NC and Jalynn Browning, Danville, Nina Brooks (Adam) of AL and Casey Nix of AL. Great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kelsie, Kryston, and Kayson Brooks of AL. Brothers Stanley Browning (Tammy) TN, and Roger Browning (Jean) SC; Sisters Betty Browning and Gloria Kitchen, Elkview. Nephews: Mike and Ron Shepherd, Mark Sica and Families, Danny Kitchen and wife Jeanette of Tornado; Nieces: Tammy Wagoner (Ralph) Elkview, Mary Kaitlyn Browning, VA; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Handley Funeral Home, 439 Phipps Avenue Danville, WV 25053 on July 5, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10am - 11am with service at 11am. Following with a burial at Orchard Hill Memorial Gardens, Yawkey, WV.
