Elizabeth White Mays

Elizabeth White Mays, age 85, a resident of Charleston, WV, formerly of Danville, WV went home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2021.

She was born April 14, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Allen and Ceila Farley White of Hell Creek in Mingo County, WV. She was also preceded in death by her husband Everett Mays Jr.; sons Gregory David Mays and Orrin Neal Mays; daughter Livia Lula Mays; sisters Lidia Runyon, Matilda Runyon, Nancy Brown, and Dorothy May Varney; brothers Ruben White and baby Patrick White; and grandson Stephen Michael Mays Jr.

Those left, who cherished and loved their mom, are her daughters, Cheryl (Bill) McCracken of Charleston, Robin Mays of Charleston, Lisa Mays of Danville and son Stephen Mays of Bahrain in the Middle East; and Taylor (Danielle) Ferrell of Elkview, WV. Also left to remember her are her grandchildren, Jennifer Sansom, and Wayne (Elizabeth) Sansom all of Greenview, WV, Tanya Elise Mays of Sweden, and Eli Farley of Danville, WV; great grandchildren, Irelana Rose Ferrell and Noah Ferrell of Elkview, WV, Wayne Sansom Jr. of Greenview, WV Cynthia (Chris) Holsinger of Uneeda, WV, Nathan Thompson of Greenview, WV, Jaxson Baisden, and Lilly Norman of Greenview, WV; great-great granddaughter, Felicia Holsinger of Uneeda; 35 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Lizzie; and special friends, Juanita Rhodes and Connie Pauley of Charleston, WV.

Thanks to Glasgow Riverside Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, CAMC General and Memorial Hospitals for the excellent care during her time with us.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville will Dan McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Highlawn Memorial Cemetery, Godby, WV.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time a the funeral home.
