Edgar Ray Huffman

Edgar Ray Huffman, 98, of Hamlin, WV passed away peacefully on Sunday September 13, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his sons Ray Alan Huffman (April) and Rodney Huffman (Beth), his sister, Betty Lane and his brother Bob Huffman, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Ray is preceded in death by his wife Mildred of 50+ years, his daughter Margaret Huffman Anderle, 2 granddaughters, Melissa and Michelle Huffman, parents Henry and Tennessee Huffman, brothers Lonzo, Orville and Everette, Junior, Jess and Troy; his sisters Kelly, Opal and Linney.

He lived a remarkable 98 years filled with love, hard work,laughter, family, special friends and countless memories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, whose presence brought comfort to everyone who knew him.

He was a founding member of Hamlin Baptist Church and was a member of the Hamlin Masonic Lodge. The beach held a special place in his heart, but what he treasured most was sharing that time with his family and creating memories they will carry with them forever.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday September 17, 2026 at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV with David Burch and Jim Caldwell officiating. The burial will follow in Fairview Memories Gardens, Hamlin, WV. A visitation will be from 11:00pm until service.
