Edgar McComas Jr.

Edgar McComas Jr. 80, of Branchland, WV passed away on August 18, 2026 at home. He was born February 5, 1946 a son of the late Edgar and Gladys Midkiff McComas II. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Edna Louise Porter McComas and many siblings. He was the last of his generation.

He was retired from ACF in Huntington and also from Barbering in Branchland after many years.

He is survived by his sons Danny (Laura) McComas and Andrew McComas; sister-in-law Susan (Roger) McCallister; brothers-in-law Calvin (Tonya) Porter, Chester (Ruth) Porter and Donald (Kathy) Porter; two honorary daughters Peggy and Sandy; his grandchildren Danny Joe McComas, Michelle (Brian) Tabor, Zoe (Ryan) Kinnaman, Rachael Murray and Matthew (Haley) McComas; his great grandchildren Azlinn and Lorelei Murray, Luna and Declan Kinnaman, Sabrina, Scarlette, Patrick and Sawyer McComas, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved him and will always remember him.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday August 23, 2026 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home West Hamlin, WV with Mike Abshire officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Cemetery Branchland. A visitation will be held from 12:00pm until service time.
