Dwain Allen Frye

October 30, 1956 — July 31, 2025

Dwain Allen Frye, 68, of Midkiff, West Virginia, left this world to run into the arms of Jesus on July 31, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on October 30, 1956, to the late Lawson Frye and Charity Williamson Frye Vance, and stepfather, Ezra Vance. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Micky Frye, and Randell Frye.

Those left to cherish his memory are his teenage sweetheart and best friend, Brenda Mounts, that he shared his life with for 45 years, two daughters that he loved and adored, Rena (Michael) Meadows and Emilee (Ryan) Elkins, three grand darlings that he loved and cherished more than his own life that he lovingly nicknamed Olivia (Sparky Jenkins) Meadows, Ava (Bergie Joe) Meadows, and Brynlee (Spunky Lee) Elkins. He also leaves behind two brothers, Donald (Kathy) Frye, Frankie (Linda) Frye, and one sister, Diana (David) Vance, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors that he deeply cared for.

Dwain spent his younger years hauling coal to provide for his family. During this time, he made friendships that he cherished his whole life. He was a devout Christian and a member of the East Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Dwain had a desire to serve the Lord and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. In fact, he did this more times than we can count. Dwain also had a passion for horses - riding and training them - which he has passed on to all three of his grandbabies. Dwain left an incredible legacy behind. To know him, was to love him. We will miss him for the rest of our lives.

The family would like to give special thanks to Thomas Memorial (WVU Medicine) and Dignity Hospice Care for the exceptional care he received, and for everyone that has visited, prayed, and brought food during this time.
