Donna Kay Campbell

March 16, 1956 — May 9, 2025

Donna was a thoughtful, sweet, and kind soul who never hesitated to help anyone in need. Her compassionate spirit touched countless lives along her journey, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration. While recognition was never her goal, Donna’s humility, unwavering dedication, having a servant heart, and quiet strength made her shine in everything she did.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, family member, friend, and coworker—always present and selfless with her time and love. Her beloved dog, Daisy, was her constant companion, rarely leaving her side.

Donna had a remarkable work ethic and a passion for sharing the love of Jesus in word or in action—two of her most defining qualities. She found peace and joy in planting flowers, and when she wasn’t tending to her flowers, she could be found cheering on her grandchildren—Abigail, Karter, Kaisley, and Addalyn—at ball games and cheer events. Among her greatest joys was her grandson AJ, whom she cherished like the son she never had. She also found deep joy in caring for great grandson Titan, whose face she always managed to light up with a smile. She lived for her girls—her daughters were the center of her world, and she poured her heart and soul into raising them, supporting them, and loving them unconditionally. Her family was her life’s greatest purpose, and she showed it every single day through her actions and her sacrifices.

Donna enjoyed family gatherings and traveling with her sisters, Becky and Betty, and brother-in-law, Bill, as the chauffer. Her love for the beach was enjoyed by visits to her brother, Bryan, and special sister-in-law, Carol, at their vacation home in FL. She also took great pride in supporting her nephew’s campaign efforts, enjoying every story and moment along the way.

Donna dedicated over five years of diligent service as a custodian to Whitesville Elementary, part of Boone County Schools, where she was honored as their respective Service Personnel of the Year and dearly loved by the school community. She loved her school family deeply and often spoke of them with affection and pride. Her colleagues and students alike adored her, and she took great pride in helping make the school spotless, more welcoming place for everyone and whose primary mission was to be student-focused. Whether through her care for the school’s cleanliness or her everyday kindness, she made the school a better place for everyone. Before that, she worked for more than 20 years at the Rite Aid Distribution Center in St. Albans, earning numerous awards and achievements.

Now, Donna walks in God’s glorious light, reunited with loved ones in heaven. Though deeply missed, her memory lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Through God’s sufficient grace, we find comfort in knowing we will see her again one day—and what a joyful reunion that will be.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gail Bryan “Bud” and Opal Pearl (Swiger) Stuart.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughters Karrie Campbell of Indiana, Krystal (Matt) Stollings of Foster, WV, and Kandi (Bill) Plymale of Buckhannon, WV. Grandchildren AJ (Breanna) Campbell, Abigail Stollings, Karter Plymale, Kaisley Plymale, Addalyn Plymale, and great grandson, Titan Campbell. She was 7 of 9 children and is survived by siblings Dave Stuart (Cheryl) of Charleston, WV; Gail B. "Brownie" Stuart (Carol) of Morgantown, WV; Garry Stuart (Mary) of Philippi, WV; Becky Williams (Bill) of Inwood, WV; Cecil Stuart (Pam) of Philippi, WV; Betty Cox of Philippi, WV; Bernard “Bernie” Stuart (Gina) of Thornton, WV; and Charles Stuart (Tammy) of Philippi, WV; along with many nieces and nephews that she loved and adored.
