Don Hugh Nelson Jr.

Don Hugh Nelson Jr., 89, of Danville, WV passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2023. 

He was born August 22, 1934 and was a son of the late Don Sr. and Della Nelson.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife Erma Nelson; siblings Malloy Nelson, Anna Lee Miller, Delta Mae Hill, Darrell Nelson, Dennis Nelson, and Alvin Nelson.

He was a member of Boone County Association of Retired School Employees.  He was a member of the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church at Turtle Creek, Danville, WV.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Nelson; children, Donald Nelson (Robin), Donna Marcum, Ronald Nelson (Sandy), Bruce Nelson (Erika), Starla Mabe (Andy); seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Genevieve Edna Nelson.

Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Rev. Tom Bias officiating.  Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 21 at the funeral home.
