Diana Lynn Moore

September 23, 1949 — September 17, 2025

Bim, WV

Diana Lynn Moore, 75, of Bim, WV went home to be with the Lord, her husband, & son on Sept. 17, 2025.

She was born Sept. 23, 1949 to the late James & Marcelene Kerns of Bob White, WV. She was also preceded in death by her husband & son, Jr. & Robert “Tater” Moore; her brother, Doug Kerns; her in-laws, Taylor & Ethel Moore.

Diana grew up in Bob White, WV and was a 1967 Van High graduate. She and Jr. grew up together in Bob White then married in 1965 before he went to Vietnam. Their first home was at Y&O, then Jr. built their family home at Spring Hollow where they raised their family and built their businesses: a convenient store, sporting goods, home rentals, and her beauty shop where she made many friendships, memories, & touched many lives. She was saved at an early age and was a member of Cazy Freewill Baptist Church. She was also a longtime member of the VFW post 5578 ladies auxiliary. While we were young, Mom enjoyed bowling on a women’s bowling league and was also a Girl Scout leader for 2-3 years, teaching us girls about life, how to sew, cook, paint & appreciate life. Her family was her world, she was the best mom, mama, & grandma..she always made sure we had whatever we needed & sometimes wanted, giving unselfishly of herself anytime, day or night. She loved being around people and always left them better than she found them with either her heart-warming smile, a hug, kind gesture, listening ear, a card, words of encouragement, compassion, wisdom, or her “just be yourself”, “trust the Lord”, or “give them enough rope” talks. The love she showed everyone became very evident this past week! Many thanks to all the people who showed up for us, messaged, called or just took time out of their life to help us through. More importantly, for the many prayers! We are so proud to be her family & thank the Lord for her! She’s our hero and will always be remembered for the wonderful, Christian example she was.

She is survived by daughter, Sheryl (Jerry) Beard, grandchildren, Emily (Josh) Fuller, Bethany Moore (Jeremiah), Leah Kessinger (Dallas), Dalton Kessinger, Landon Moore, Sierra Beard, great grandsons, Sawyer Beard, Jaylor Litton & Atlas Fuller; adopted daughter-in-law & granddaughter, Kelly & Delani Allen; sister, Karen Holcomb; sisters-in-law Ladonna Ball & Marie Kerns (Wendell); brother-in-law, Tony Moore; many nieces, nephews, wonderful friends (some more like family), special friend Sandy; and her furbabies, LuLu & Phoebe.

Written shared memories may be dropped in a basket at the funeral home and would be greatly appreciated.

Services will be  at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20th at Handley Funeral Home in Danville with visitation starting at 10:00am. Brother Mike Allen will be officiating the servie. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens, Low Gap.
