Darlene White Gunnoe Dangerfield

February 9, 1950 — January 17, 2022

Darlene White Gunnoe Dangerfield, 71, of Twilight, WV departed this life for her heavenly home on Monday, January 17th, 2022.

She was born February 9, 1950 to the late Herbert and Margaret Richmond White. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters whom she loved so deeply Royena Mae White and Katherine Lynn White Workman. Her brother-in-law Michael Workman and her nephew Michael Workman Jr.

She is survived by her son, Danny Lee Gunnoe, Jr (Tracy L Bragg); her daughter, Tammy Sue Gunnoe Cooke (Harold “Wayne” Cooke); two step-daughters, Wendy Perez and Elaine (David) Hall; nieces and nephews, Julie Coleman (Daryl), James White (Jamie Hapney), Amy Wilson (Louie), Sabrina Elswick (Sam); brother-in-law, Shirley White; great-nieces and nephews, Britney Wilson, Angel Wilson, Herbie Wilson, George Wilson, Wesley Elswick, Seth Elswick, Selena Elswick and Johnny Smith.

Special thanks to one of her lifelong friends, Debbie Dunlap, who always mailed her cards, brought her homemade fudge and cabbage rolls and was always calling to check in on her.

She attended Martha FWB Church and loved her church family and serving the Lord. As a family member once said. With Darlene and Danny and Tammy, it never was said just one of those names alone. It was like they are always together all as one word – DarleneDanny&Tammy. The three of them have always been inseparable. Those who knew her can you tell you from their own memories that they will always cherish her and the friendship that she always gave. She never knew a stranger. She could run into someone in the grocery store and start exchanging recipes. She could walk to the Twilight Post Office (which is only a 5 minute walk) and she could be gone for two hours. She has left us all with so many great memories and stories that we must continue to share and keep her memory alive.

Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, January 21 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Steve Burns officiating, Billy Dean Mitchell and Sue Baire will both sing for her. Burial will follow at Mid-Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown, WV.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 20 at the funeral home.
