Cletis Lawson Messinger

Cletis L. Messinger was born on December 8, 1931, and left this world at the age of 93 on May 25,2025 to be reunited in heaven with the love of his life Corrina. He will also be reunited with his parents Myrtle and Roscoe Messinger, and siblings which includes his brothers; Clovis (Leta) Messinger, and Clayton (Lula) Messinger; sisters Mayme (Gene) Nelson, Lydia (Woodrow) Adkins, Nellie (Don) Brown, Ellen Gay Sias, and Velva (George) Sias along with many friends and loved ones who've gone before him.

Left here to miss and mourn this loss are sons: Bob Messinger, Dale and Bobby (Miranda) Messinger; daughters: Pat Meade (Bob) and Tab Messinger (Scott). His grandchildren include Debbie Messinger, Lonnie (Bonnie Messinger, Jamie (Kala) Messinger, Nora (Kati) Messinger, Kat Brown, Whittney Messinger, Kendra Griffith, Dustin (Mari) Griffith, Austin (McKayla) Griffith, Melodie (Trea) Beane, Zack (Kenzie) Griffith, Eva (Johnathon Meade and Eric Meade. Living a long and blessed life he is also leaving behind 28 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother-in-law Jimmy Sias, and several beloved nieces and nephews. 

Cletis held many jobs in his lifetime from being a machinist in Clevland, Ohio to a Tabacco farmer in West Virginia. He was a loving and caring man, because helping others was something that made him happy. In his younger years, he would be found around the community helping others with handyman work. He knew the values of a hard day's work and was the strongest man that many of us will ever come to know. 

Services for Cletis will be held on at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, with Mark Fordyce officiating at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin WV. He will be laid to rest in Bear Branch Cemetery in Spurlockville, WV next to his late wife.
